Its My Party…
So every year I post about how much I hate New Year’s and my Birthday. Because they signify me getting older and not being where I want to be yet, and also I usually don’t get to go out or no one really pays attention to my birthday…So I loathe June 30th and want to watch the date burn on the calendar.
Well NOT this year. I already ended up loving New Year’s this year, so I’m going to try and keep the good feelings going for my birthday.
I’m planning a party.
Not just any party. A Midsummer Night’s Dream Party. Yes! I’m going all out like Hefner and the girls!
I’m renting a venue, making invitations, a guest list, the works. There is even a dress code!
Problem…I need a theme. See its not just gonna be faeries and princesses just because it takes its name from a Shakespearian play with that stuff. Every year Hef picks a theme and last year’s was Arabian Nights. I don’t want to do that, but I figured I need to come up a theme for my party.
So far here’s what I got:
Sweet but Sexy: Fairy Tale Debauchery: Pastel colours, sugary sweet, but hot costumes, woodland decor so its like we’re in the forest lost in a hazy maze of miscommunication and love complete with saytrs and fauns!
Very Nymph like
Wild and Naughty: Cirque du Burlesque: You’ve heard Britney’s song Circus, well take that and add a burlesque twist. With deep reds, leather and lace, and hopefully aerialists. Costumes: think a little gothic and vampy with glam touches.
